2015 – a reflection…

Wow, what year it’s been!!  2015 was a big year of change for the Happy Wise Owl household.  There have been plenty of great times and fab memories made along the way.

Work:

April saw me leave my  job in the Pharmaceutical industry of nearly 13 years and start working with my husband in the financial services business he runs.

6 months later in October we decided that we’d like some new challenges so I started writing this blog (which is now 3 months old!) We also started up a new consultancy business which is going from strength to strength – we offer admin services and estate planning and I’m hoping that 2016 will see this business continue to grow.

Holidays:

We travelled to LA in April, spent a few days in San Diego and then finished up in Marina Del Rey which was so much fun to do with my step-daughter.  We dragged John round Calabasas as we tried to Keep up with Kardashians.

We’ve had various weekends away to Wales, Devon, Kent, Windsor, Padstow, Norwich and Manchester.

Fitness:

I’ve really become a gym bunny this year and have tried new classes including spinning and HITT, both of which I absolutely love.  I’ve seen my strength and general fitness level improve massively and risen to any challenges that have been set by Aleta (sorry I missed my Christmas Challenge!!!)

I did the 30 Days of Yoga Challenge and really wanted to try and keep it up so continue for the next month.

And then in October, I had a nasty fall and I’ve not been able to go at all. For the first couple of weeks I could barely walk, let alone entertain the idea of being at the gym.  An x-ray and an MRI confirmed that I hadn’t broken anything and there was no need for a steroid injection or any operation so with some physio in the new year, I should be back to the gym pretty soon!

Family & Friends:

My sister got engaged AND bought a new house (yeah!!)…my brother graduated from Uni with a first class degree…(clever clogs)…my friend Anna had her first baby and asked us to be godparents to little Joseph…there were other baby boys from Lauren, Tina, and my cousin Ben…the one and only little girl was delivered to Vicky the week before Christmas, my birthday was spent at Cheltenham races…we saw Wicked and Elf…and Michael McIntyre (for the 3rd time!), we had tons of meals out with friends…we struggled with new puppy behaviours and training (this continues to be an ongoing battle)… and the list goes on.

We’ve had a truly wonderful year and I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for us all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
