When in Rome…Our Hotel

As you may or may not have seen on my Twitter feed over the last couple of weeks I’ve been incredibly excited about our little 4 day break to Roman Rome.  It’s somewhere that JB and I have wanted to visit for a while but never got there.  Earlier this year we decided enough was enough and just booked it!

After trawling the internet for what felt like an eternity I stumbled across Mood Hotels which is a small chain that has six small hotels across Rome.  Each are completely individual and styled in their own way.

We opted for the Navona Palace Hotel which is located slightly off the Piazza Navona and is really central.  It took us just 5 minutes to walk to the Pantheon, 10-15 minutes to get to the Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps and 20 minutes to the Colosseum.

We were very fortunate to be upgraded on arrival to their top room, the Open Suite, which was a spacious luxury room that was elegantly decorated.  We even had our own balcony that we could sit out on (not that we had any time for lounging around!)  We had our own fluffy robes, slippers, beautiful toiletries plus the minibar was free! Check in was at 2pm but we arrived around 12.30pm and our room was luckily ready for us – this was a bonus as we left home at 4am!

Breakfast was included in our stay and the choice was so varied! Freshly made sweet and savoury options including cakes (& Panna Cotta on the last morning!), plenty of different breads, cereals, meats, cheese plus fruit platters, yoghurts – you certainly didn’t leave hungry.

The hotel also has a trendy terrace roof bar, with comfortable stylish seating and multi-coloured cool lighting.  We only visited this bar on one evening for a quick drink but didn’t get any photos as it was already dark.

The staff were incredibly helpful, always friendly and couldn’t do enough for you to ensure you had a great stay. The service was so much better than some of the bigger hotel chains that we have stayed in. Pietro on reception helped us with taxis, directions and restaurant recommendations whilst Riccardo in the bar always greeted us with smile and a good glass of local wine or G&T!

We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Rome in the future.  We will definitely book here again without a doubt.

The hotel looks gorgeous! I always prefer individual hotels to the bigger chains as they feel more personal and have so much more character. It sounds wonderful, looking forward to reading what you got up to.
