I’m probably a little behind the times as a blogger – either that or I’m not ‘down with the kids’ anymore. A year ago, I had no idea what a Sephora was, let alone visit one.
Now I can rejoice in the glory that I have visited not one but TWO stores in the last 6 weeks. Although I’m not a beauty blogger by any shape or form, I know everyone seems to like a good old nose at what’s been purchased from the blogger store of dreams.
Face Masks & Shower Gels
It’s only recently that I’ve started using facemasks and my current favourite has got to be the Oskia Renaissance Mask. I picked these 3 up simply as I knew I’d be able to put them in my hand luggage…what I hadn’t realised is that they are the sheet face masks. I’ve used one so far (the anti-fatigue & energising) and I could just about tolerate it on my face! (I don’t really like anything on my face – it makes me feel claustrophobic, ski googles, snorkelling masks are a no-no). Anyways, it made my skin feel super soft but I’m not sure it was left looking less tired!!!
The 3 little shower gels are just super handy to have if you’re going away for the weekend. The Peony scent is really delicate…the other two have yet to be opened!
All the make up was a little overwhelming, the stores were SO busy that I didn’t really know where to start. My purchases included:
Kat Von D ‘Studded Kiss’ lipstick in MagicK which I’d seen over on Georgie’s @asyouwish Instagram recently. This lipstick is really soothing and doesn’t dry out your lips like a MAC one I’m currently using. It’s reasonably long wearing and the colour is great for day to day. You can now purchase Kat Von D makeup in most larger Debenhams stores.
Benefit Roller Lash* is another product that I’d read lots of bloggers rave about so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon here as well. I have a bad habit of putting mascara on and then rubbing my eyes as the day progresses and I get tired from looking at the computer screen all day. This isn’t too bad with smudging issues. It makes my lashes look super feathery and doesn’t clump them together.
A Sephora Eye Contouring Palette was chucked in my basket as I realised I’d gone away without any eye makeup other than my mascara. this isn’t a great product to be honest – it’s not very pigmented so you have to put a LOT on. All of the colours have a shimmer to them as well which I don’t mind but if you have a palette that contains a few colours at least let one be matte!
My final purchase was the Sephora Super Nourishing Lip Balm – not terribly exciting but I’m always misplacing mine so thought I’d buy yet another one. This however is REALLY good and does exactly what it says on the tin – super nourishing!
So there you have it! My first Sephora Haul – I’ll admit I didn’t go crazy but next time I go I’ll be more prepared for the busyness and perhaps have a little bit of a hit list of what I want to buy!!
What are you favourite Sephora purchases?!
