My Updated Skincare Routine

I’ve recently talked about how I’ve struggled with problematic skin and Roaccutane which you can read about here.  I thought I’d share with you my updated skincare routine now.  To my absolute amazement I’ve had comments about how good my skin is looking of late.  I can only put it down to these products.

Morning Routine

Facewash:  I start every morning washing my face with the Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash.  This is a gentle, mild face wash that has the consistency of marshmallows!  It doesn’t make my skin feel tight and balances out dry and oily patches.

Serum:  I follow this with probably the most expensive item…Dr Zelen’s Provitamin D Treatment Serum.  I didn’t want to spend a 3 figure number on a single product but I had this in Caroline Hirons Cult Beauty Box.  I have NOT been disappointed and am convinced it is this product that has balanced me out.  If there are any problematic areas, then this is the one stop shop fix it solution.  It’s left my skin looking fresh, smooth and hydrated.  I cannot praise it enough!

Eye Cream:  Again, another product from the magic Cult Beauty Box – the Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme.  Understood to be one of Caroline’s GO TO products, I can see why.   It’s  rich, hydrating and smooth, without being greasy.

Moisturiser:  I tend to vary my moisturiser up.  At the moment I’m using the January Lab Moisture Balancing Lotion (from Caroline Hiron’s Cult Beauty Box) OR the Kiehls Super Multi Corrective Cream. I was also using the Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream but it’s just run out.

EVENING

Cleanse:  I ALWAYS double cleanse.  I won’t run into what I use but you can catch up on my cleanser addition here.

Toner:  I alternate between Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer or the Indie Lee Co-Q Toner (from that box again!)  Indie Lee contains hyaluronic acid (similar to Pixi Glow Tonic) and is gentle, soothing, calming and hydrating.

Serum:  I don’t use the Dr Zelen’s serum twice a day, purely based on it’s price tag!  Instead, I use Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro-Peel which ‘accelerates surface skin cell turnover, revealing fresher, smoother, younger-looking skin’.

Eye Cream: I’m using up the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Eye.  I like it but I don’t love it compared to the other Kiehls products in my armour.

Moisturiser:  I do have a night cream which at the moment is Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream.  Alternatively I’ll use one of the products mentioned above.

TREATMENTS

Weekly Treatments

Finally, I use a small number of products a couple of times a week…I can’t say that I have set routine with them.

Origins Drink up Intensive Overnight Mask

Oskia Renaissance Mask

Indeed Labs Retinol refaceTM Retinol Skin Resurfacer Serum

I’m slowly introducing the Indeed Labs Retinol as it can be harsh on your skin.  You’re supposed to use it every night as it can help with a multitude of problems.  The main problem I’m focussing on is acne scarring and in the month I’ve been using it, I can see a difference.

Do you have any product recommendations?!

Thanks so much for this. I do love Origins and need to get my hand on new products. Also your toner sounds fab, just run out of mine so will give this one a try. Have a lovely day. Kirsten xx
