Surviving a Long Haul Flight

As you’ll be aware, we recently took a trip to New Zealand. We travelled a total of 56 hours on our trip so I feel that I provide some tips on surviving a long haul flight!

Clothes

Comfort is key for me on a flight! Jeans are too restrictive so I found a great pair of lightweight cotton trousers in Primark. They were super soft and were almost like PJ bottoms! I wore a tshirt plus a jumper. (I wish I’d had my amazingly soft Sabrina and Scarlett star jumper before we left!).  You never can tell if it’s going to be hot or cold on the flight. What’s more, when you’re tired you tend to feel the cold more. I made sure I had an extra pair of socks and a scarf in my hand luggage (some clean underware!)

Beauty Goodies

Everyone knows how important it is to keep hydrated on a flight. This rule also applies to your skin. This is where I find all the samples I’ve collected over the months come in handy. Once we’re all settled in our seats and taken off, I always take my make up off. This time I used Creme de La Mer Micellar Water . I follow up with Clarins Blue Orchid Oil and then a layer of the Origins Drink Up Mask. As and when my skins feels dehydrated I alternate between the two. I bought on the flight the Dr Lipp Balm Dr Lipps balm for my lips and it’s been really good! Also in my clear plastic bag is asmall deodorant, a Dry Shampoo and some hand cream.

Reading Material

I made sure my Kindle was fully loaded with books for the journey  to last the trip. I’ve just signed up for Kindle Unlimited which is £7.99 a month. I always stock up on magazines in the airport. I’ve no idea why I don’t buy them before but it’s a tradition we’ve got into! I’ll be writing a separate post on what I’ve read.

Travel Documents

You definitely don’t want to be that person that holds up the queue whilst you’re trying to find your passport, boarding pass, tickets or holiday money!  We keep all of our stuff together in a travel wallet (JB is in charge!).  Ours is starting to look a bit old but I love this one from Aspinal!!

What do you like to take on a flight?!

I always take something warm, and a comfy pair of shoes! Also, I like to take a hydrating overnight face mask to put on during the flight!
