Italy…an all round fabulous place – good weather, lovely people, amazing food and wine. Need I carry on?! I’ve been meaning to pop into the Italian Food Hall in Bath ever since it opened in November but with the usual rush of life, never made it in. However…JB and I managed to visit and oh my, we’re glad we did!!
The shop is crammed FULL of so many beautiful products from Italy – everything from wine, oils, pasta to fresh cheese and charcuterie.
Speaking with Laura (who’s Italian) it’s clear that she wanted to bring the flavours and passion of Italy to Bath. All the products are sourced from small local independent businesses in Italy that are imported in. This is what I particularly loved – regular readers will know that I support any independent business that I can and knowing that I’m also supporting families back in Italy was great.
The Italian Food Hall also offers a lunch special which is an absolute bargain. For £4.95 you get a panini, drink and crisps or small cake. You can also go large!
The owner, Laura, is wonderful – she’s engaging and welcoming (would you expect anything less from an Italian?!). Laura is keen to create community spirit and holds an Italian Supper Club every week where you can learn the language and try some tasty treats!
For those based in the Bath area, you can get a discount with your Discovery cards and they are now taking payments using the Pixi app.
There’s also a section for those of us with dietary requirements – plenty of gluten and dairy free options. We picked up some tasty treats including a blue goats cheese which is highly recommended!!
Next time you’re in Bath, be sure to visit! You can find them at the top of Milsom Street standing proudly in Edgar buildings.
