Everyone knows how much I love Italy and it’s food and it’s wine. We have pasta on a weekly basis in the HWO household (I’d have it every night if I could to be honest!). My excitement was through the roof when I stumbled across fresh artisan pasta deliveries straight to your door from the Pasta Evangelists!
The concept is pretty simple – a subscription box that delivers every week. You can choose from the vegetarian box which is from £13.90 per week, the variety for £15.90 or the gourmet box from £17.90 per week. Alternatively you can pick mix your box from the weekly menu.
Everything is labelled up with coloured stickers so you know what makes up each meal. The dishes come with their own recipe card and a little history about the dish. First up for us was tagliatelle with wild garlic pesto and pickled leeks, topped with pine nuts. The garlic was STRONG but pretty tasty although by the end I was little bored of the flavour.
This was followed by the second pasta dish – wild boar ragu with pappardelle. This was by far the nicest dish and I’d definitely reorder this one. Just a small minor comment being that that there wasn’t a lot of meat to be found but what there was, was delicious and melted in your mouth.
The pasta was super fresh and absolutely delicious – so much better than the fresh pasta you buy in the supermarkets.
Both of our pasta dishes could have been frozen – what’s more, it seems as though both could have been cooked from frozen as well which is great time saver for everyone with busy lives.
What I really liked was that if you are a continuous subscriber, all the outer packaging can be collected and reused so you’re helping the environment out a little too.
