Sweet Little Things

There’s no need to be heading to London for your Instagrammable cafe shots anymore (I’m looking at you Peggy Porschen’s cafe) – look no further than Sweet little Things in Bath!

The sister cafe of much loved Cafe au Lait (found opposite the train station), SLT opened at the start of Summer 2018 by Fiona and Natalie Bonnici. An instagrammer and blogger paradise with delicate vintage china, an incredible pink flower wall plus soft blush pink velvet chairs plus whispering’s of a new adornment for the wall that’s coming soon!

After fellow blogger and foodie extraordinaire Sal’s Kitchen had been in to try the afternoon tea, the lovely Fiona asked if I would be up for sampling breakfast.  No need to be asked twice!  I do love a good breakfast – although I find it very hard to decide what to have when we’re out…do I go sweet…or do I go savoury?!

Knowing they had some vegan options available, JB came along as breakfast can be a bit tricky when we’re out and about.  The menu has just the right amount of choice – enough to make a decision but not enough to be completely overwhelmed.

There was no hesitation in ordering the smashed avo on toast – are you even a blogger if this is on the menu and you don’t order it?! When the plate came out there was a squeal of delight from me. Two pieces of sourdough loaded high with avocado, topped with red onion, chilli and radishes.

Our second plate were the equally epic pancakes.  Available in both traditional buttermilk or vegan these come with three different topping options. I went for berry compote, banana and maple syrup. Just the right amount of topping on the three tiered stack which wasn’t too sweet.  The pancakes were fluffy and light so the whole thing didn’t make you feel too overstuffed.

These were washed down with a coconut latte for JB and a good old traditionally cup of tea for me – served no less in a teapot.  My only observation is that you have to pay extra for a milk alternative. (I know you do in LOTS of places so no criticism on Sweet Little Things!!!)

The glass fronted counter was brimming with goodies including cupcakes (& yes, there were some vegan options!) plus huge bowls overflowing with delicious salads ready for the lunchtime rush.

We’ll certainly be back for lunch…or cake…or afternoon tea…or breakfast…again at some point in the near future!

Wow, that looks like an intense slice of avocado toast! The cafe looks so sweet – lol I guess they picked a pretty accurate name.
