What makes you happy? For some of us it’s found in the smallest of things – the first cup of tea or coffee of the day, getting into bed with fresh clean sheets, finding something you’ve been lusting after in the sale or simply a super sunny day. Other things that make us happy might include spending time with family or friends, traveling to foreign shores or exploring areas within your home country. It might be hearing your children squeal with delight or knowing that the kids have finally gone to bed after a particular challenging day!
This new book by Jacqueline Pirtle explores ‘365 days of Happiness’. The second paragraph stood out for me…
You might think it’s hard or even impossible to be happy every single day…No matter what is happening, you can always shift from being unhappy to BE and live your own happiness.
I have rediscovered in recent months that only you can control your own sense of happiness and well-being and you cannot control how others perceive you.
Sometimes it can easy to take the ‘unhappy’ view but we can take happiness from anything in life.
So what makes HappyWiseOwl happy…
- Spending quality time with JB – we’re together 80% of the time as we run two businesses but it’s when we take a break from everything that the most important
- Family time
- Catching up with friends – I have a very small circle of friends who are extremely important to me. I have known many of them nearly all my life!
- Connie & Roxy
- A glass of prosecco…or a gin!
- Smashing a tough workout
- Travel – this is a HUGE part of who I am. I’ve been extremely fortunate to visit lots of countries and my travel hit list never seems to get any smaller!
What makes you happy?!
(I would also like to point out that I am by no means trying to discredit anyone who struggles to find the good and goes through periods of unhappiness – if you are worried or concerned about anything then please reach out to someone or call the Samaritans)
