Cosy Nights

Winter is well and truly upon us – it’s dark by 4pm and the thought of going out in the wind and rain is def not appealing…is this a sign I’m getting old?!

Here’s a few of my recommendations for a super cosy night in!  The majority of these products are made locally to me by some wonderful independent producers.  This year I’ve really become aware of how important it is to support local producers and small businesses.

Candles

This candle smells beautifully of dark pomegranate and is by The Bath Candle Company*.  They are hand poured in the city of Bath made with the finest eco soya wax & the scent is strong but not over powering.  They actually look as though they might come from The White Company!  These candles come in a beautiful white jar with a silver lid making them look really great quality.

Anyone who’s been in our house knows there’s always a candle burning and I’m always on the lookout for new ones…despite already owning enough to probably open a shop!

Chocolates

These chocolates are made by Choconchoc – the wonderful Flo and Kerr, a Dad and daughter team based near Bath.  They have SO many great designs to choose from – this gin and tonic set is brilliant!!  I opted for the classic truffle collection – 3 x chocolate brownie, 3 x strawberry champagne, 3 x salted caramel.  Champagne truffles are my absolute favourite chocolate and anything salted caramel is always a winner as well!!

Henny & Joes Chai

This is a hug in a mug! Henny & Joe’s Masala Chai is the most versatile bottle of liquid you’ll find in your store cupboard.  I was introduced to this fairly recently and knew it would be a hit with my husband.  As he’s dairy intolerant he misses a good cup of tea and isn’t overly keen on many herbal teas out there.  This chai can be used to make a warming cup of chai tea, poured into your porridge, added to yoghurt or even into some warmed apple juice for a delicious hot toddy.

Naturally, this is also made in Bath and I’ve just learnt they do a Chocolate Chai as well!

A Good Film

This time of year, it’s got to be Love Actually  – it’s one of my favourite films of all time.  I know it’s a bit predictable and bit sickly in places but it’s also a lovely feel good film and it always make me chuckle.

I walked down the aisle to the Glasgow Love theme which is taken from the film…it’s the bit where Juliet finds the video that Mark has filmed of the wedding day.

Cosy Blankets

A cosy night in simply must include a cosy blanket to snuggle under! I treated myself to one similar to this last year from John Lewis – it’s got a touch of cashmere in so it’s super soft.

This one is currently on sale at House of Fraser with more than 50% off!

What makes a cosy night for you?!
