We popped into the new Thaikhun restaurant in Bath one evening as I’d heard great reviews.
As soon as you enter you feel as though you’ve been thrown into the bustling Thai streets as you’re surrounded by various bric-a-brac and the smells of delicious street food.
We had Gai Satay (chicken satay skewers) and Por Pia Tord Pak (veggie spring rolls) as our starter however what we didn’t realise is that when your drinks arrive you get a big dish of Thai prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce to munch on…YUMMY!
The mains followed quickly after and mine was light yet filling – I had the Kao Ka Prao Gai (chicken with chilli and thai basil). John was a little disappointed with his Gai Yang (grilled chicken) as there wasn’t a lot of chicken – he says it tasted delicious, there just wasn’t much of it. The manager came over to see if everything was OK with our meal and after explaining our situation to him another dish (same as mine) was promptly bought out to John – no questions asked and no additional charges.
For 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 bottles of beer the bill came to a little over £45 which was great value for money.
We’ll definitely be going back to Thaikhun and would recommend it to any Thai food lovers!
