I am by no means a fashion blogger…in fact, I’m not a fashion blogger in any shape or form. Kate gave us all a talk on the merits of packing a capsule wardrobe when we go on holiday.  I’m as guilty as the next person for throwing anything and everything into the suitcase without really stopping to think what goes with what.  I have become better over recent years as our travels have taken around the globe.  We’ve even taken a few holidays where we’ve shared a 20kg case or with just hand luggage so I know I CAN do it.

However…nothing fills me with more dread than only taking Kate’s ‘hit list’.  This included things such as one dress, one pair of shorts and two dresses.  Realistically you’ll probably only wear these things but I have the constant nag of ‘what if I get something down me?!’  Once you’ve got your required packing list, it should only take you 30 minutes to pack your case rather than the 5 hours that a recent study showed!  My take away piece of advice was ***Don’t pack anything unless it goes with at least 3 other items!***

I also met fellow local blogging beauty Phases of Robyn. We’d booked tickets in the knowledge that we’d know each other despite having never met before!

The Cosmetic Company were on hand to show us how to achieve that elusive summer glow and did a tutorial showing us what products to use.  I rarely wear any make up on holiday and take the very basics which include a concealer, mascara and a lipstick.  I might push the boat out to a BB cream if I remember.

We were also treated to a little goodie bag which contained a beautiful Reiss card holder, some Body Shop products, Whittards tea bags and some Glam Glow mask treatment.

There will be another event in September – unfortunately I won’t be able to attend as I’ll be on my holidays. If you can go however I highly recommend it!
