You’ve probably gathered that I LOVE Christmas, our shopping is complete, the cards are written, some presents are wrapped and the tree will be going up this weekend.
However, one thing I’ve noticed this year, and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve become more of a social media addict together with starting this a blog, but there seems to be more pressure into getting it “right”. There are pictures all over my Facebook and Twitter feed of various Christmas themed posts. I’m so glad I don’t have Pinterest or Instagram…I’d be tipped over the edge by now!
Are we a failure if we don’t…
Find the “perfect gift” for EVERYONE
Have a beautifully decorated tree fit for a shop window (I’m never 100% satisfied with the way our tree is decorated and spend the whole time it’s up FAFFING with the decorations!)
Have amazing gift wrap on all the gifts and having them uniformly presented
Have an array of perfectly homemade cocktails, nibbles and various other food sources for the visitors…
…who’s diaries you’ve carefully co-ordinate with everyone to ensure nobody is left out and all family and friends are met with
I am by no means a Bah Humbug about Christmas, quite the opposite but surely it’s all about spending time with family and friends, having fun and creating memories.
Will anyone remember any of the above in years to come?!
