US State Capitals You should visit

When it comes to travelling around the United States, we all know the most popular tourist cities. New York. LA. San Francisco. Chicago. Washington D.C. However, if you prefer to visit places that are a little more off the beaten track, you could always start with some of the lesser-known state capitals. America is such as big country that there are bound to be more than a few underappreciated spots that you could go to. This article will give you just a few of them.

Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta is one of the most vibrant and exciting cities of the American south. One of the best parts of taking a trip here is enjoying the blossoming food scene. As well as visiting a couple of the fabulous restaurants, you can simply grab a hotdog to enjoy while you are strolling the streets. As an important city in the Civil Rights movement, there is certainly plenty of history to learn about, so don’t miss out taking a trip to the Atlanta History Center where you can find out about the life and times of one of the great Americans.

St. Paul, Minnesota

Set in the Mississippi River valley, you may never have heard of St. Paul before but it certainly benefits from its unique location. Visit during the summer months and you can glide along the river on one of the impressive Padelford Riverboats. For people who are interested in a different side of American history, you could always embark on one of the Gangster Tours which tell you all about a more violent side to the city’s history. There are also plenty of excellent museums which you can enjoy including the Science Museum of Minnesota.

 

Denver, Colorado

Denver has a history which dates all the way back to the Old West era, and you can see plenty of evidence from that time at the city’s oldest block, Larimer Square. During the winter months, the city acts as a base for people who want to head out on winter sports adventure holidays in the Rocky Mountains. Take a stroll around River North and you will have the chance to enjoy some of the most incredible street art and architecture.

 

Columbus, Ohio

 

Columbus offers a good mix of attractions to satsify all sorts of traveller. If you are looking to enjoy a night out on the town, you should certainly head over to the Arena District or the the Ohio State University area. If you are into baseball, Huntington Park is certainly the place to go. The AC Hotel Columbus Dublin provides the perfect place to base yourself. The German Village is certainly a fascinating part of the city which is well worth a stroll around. For museum-lovers, you could either head over to the Center of Science and Industry or the Columbus Museum of Art.
