Upper Class Service

Our trip to New York was absolutely amazing – if you haven’t caught up with what we did, you can catch up here or read about Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I never enjoy coming home, you might say I’m a bit of a sulky Sidney! However finding out we had the opportunity to fly home Upper Class with Virgin changed my mind!

Arriving at the airport we diverted past the long queue at check in and walked into the upper class area at JFK.  Everything at check in was a breeze including getting priority at security.  I think the whole process from leaving our taxi to getting to Duty Free was about 10 minutes!

As an upper class passenger you get to use the Clubhouse Virgin lounge. The lounge is split into work and play areas: there’s the bar and a pool table, a dining area, a spa where you can get an array of treatments done, a small business centre and a relaxing area with cosy seats.  There is a good choice of food from something light to bigger meals and plenty of differing drinks.  We both chose curry which came with a Nan bread, rice AND poppadoms – in a true Brit style, we also had some chips!  Need I say that we had several glasses of fizz as well!

Upper class get boarded first and weirdly we were the first to board the plane.  Greeted with a (yet another) glass of fizz as our hand luggage and jackets were squirrelled away for us.  The individual seats are staggered so that you’re not sat facing anyone or encroaching anyone else’s space. A ciclo de 4 años y medio de dosis glucosa en la sangre de una mujer, sklice over the counter cuya anemia era causada por la diabetes tipo 2, le dio problemas para realizar bien su trabajo de profesora. As it was a night flight we were given Virgin PJs should we wish to change into them plus  a little vanity bag which included a sleep mask, socks, toothbrush and paste plus some Ren products.

Whilst we waited for the rest of the flight to board we were given the dinner menu and a cocktail menu. The food choices were like that of restaurant (add piece about what the food was).  Our chosen cocktails would be given as soon as it was safe after take off.

Once we’d taken off and our cocktails drank, dinner was served. I couldn’t help but smile when the table was ‘set’ – a table cloth, salt & pepper pots and weighty cutlery. I opted for the boar meatballs followed by the cheeseboard and I can honestly say it was the nicest plane food I’ve ever eaten!

Once dinner was cleared away, we were then given the opportunity to have our seats turned into beds.  Naturally this is all done for you and I was surprised to see a sheet being put down, then a proper pillow and duvet!  I’m not sure that I slept a great deal but the 3 hours raced past and we were woken up for our pre-ordered breakfast – waffles for me (which I didn’t take a photo of sadly).

This was an amazing treat and to be able to fly Upper Class on JB’s birthday was a great end to the holiday.  We wouldn’t have been able to afford it without our Virgin airmiles!

It’s such an incredible way to fly and virgin are one of the best airlines I’ve flown with. I love the propeller salt and pepper they give you. Everything is so well thought out.
