Exclusive Preview – Radiance Wellbeing

Last week I was invited to have an exclusive preview of the new Radiance Wellbeing spa that is opening very soon.  Roger Morrad and his wife Emma have been planning this new venture for quite some time.  Roger explained that they have taken a step back and have really looked at the spa industry and decided to reinvent the whole experience, for the better.

Located right in the centre of Bath but discreetly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Radiance Wellbeing hopes to bring a completely new view on a spa experience delivering exception authentic holistic therapies to their clients.

Roger has been working with local companies wherever possible and is a firm follower of the Bath Indie (independent) business revolution that is currently under way.  They have turned down opportunities to work with some of the big product houses as they just didn’t fit with Radiance’s business model.

There will be no WiFi available in the spa so you can totally unwind during your treatment.  They do not want a “conveyor belt” approach for appointments meaning that you won’t be rushed out the door as soon as your treatment is finished.  They want the small selection of treatments to be delivered with excellence rather than in a robotic fashion that you might see in some bigger chains where all massages are the same regardless of the product house they come under.  It’s very difficult to expect staff to remember how to do 20 different treatments to a high standard, consistently.

Needless to say, taking on an old building in Bath brings it’s own plethora of problems!  Work that was supposed to take a day or two has ended up taking two or three weeks in some cases -the joy of having a listed building and work needing to be repaired or restored in a like for like basis.

There have been a few “reveals” over the last couple of days including a partnership with The Oil Hut and they are in discussions with talking commissions with Alex of Lucas Antics.

I’m really excited for the launch of this spa and can’t wait to visit next time…and hopefully experience a treatment or two!

Ooo this sounds really nice! Definitely a good idea about the wifi. Think everyone needs to unwind and relax and learn to live without the phones for a few hours. Xo
