Feeling Relaxed at Radiance

You may remember that in 2016 I was invited to have a sneak peak at Radiance Wellbeing, a new day spa that was opening in Bath.

In November 2016, Roger and Emma officially opened the doors to Radiance and I’ve been itching to get in there to try a treatment.  December was pretty much full on with work and social life so I’ve only just been able to get myself organised with an appointment.

Despite the building being 400 years old, the team have managed to keep it’s history yet bring it into the modern world whilst creating an area of calm, tranquillity and a personal touch – the rooms give me a sense of being at home rather than treatment rooms you find in hotels.

On arrival, I was asked if I would like a hot drink to start the experience, which was complimentary.  I’d usually go for a slightly predictable English Breakfast Tea but Roger persuaded me to try a spicy chai tea which I’ll have to admit was pretty delicious!  What I hadn’t realised until the end of my treatment was that I could have had a cheeky glass of fizz for a couple of extra pennies.

I was shown downstairs into the Balenium Suite which was really spacious yet still maintained the cosy feels.  Despite it being a FREEZING day outside, the room was snug and there were lots of warm, fluffy blankets waiting on the bed for me.  The suite has a beautiful roll top bath and is used for organic oil and Himalayan Mineral soaks.  The Suite is also large enough to be used for double treatments.

I opted for the Bath Serenity Full Body Massage which uses locally sourced and produced (within 3 miles of Bath) Bath Spa Organic Body Oil.

After answering a few routine questions, I was left to get myself ready.  I’d explained to Abby that I’d had a really tough couple of RPM classes which had left my legs stiff and sore.  Once I’d had all the knots in my back and shoulders worked through, Abby took to sorting my legs out and despite one “ouchy” moment, my legs felt fully revived!  The hour raced by and I could hardly believe it when Abby gently informed me it was all over.  Again, there was no rush for me to be up and out ready for the next client – no conveyor belt treatments here thank you!!

My treatment was 60 minutes for £54 and I have to say was worth every penny!  Radiance also run a loyalty scheme – for every treatment you’ll receive points and these points make prizes!  I received 10 points for my treatment and you need 50 points in order to make a redemption.

I’ll be back to Radiance Wellbeing in the very near future for another treatment – there’s no doubt about it!!

This sounds heavenly. It’s been way too long since I indulged in a massage! Looks like a beautiful place too. I think it’s so important to take the time to unwind every now and again. Great post lovely.
