Festival of Lights

Longleat has always been a firm family day out favourite for lots of people – there’s so much to do from the safari, to looking round the house, to getting lost in the worlds largest maze and going on the boat to see gorilla island.

Every year they run their annual Festival of Lights with a different theme each year. We’ve always wanted to go but never actually made it so this year we decided to get tickets booked and see what all the fuss was about!

This year was a Beatrix Potter theme together with the animals you can find at the safari – at the entrance we were greeted by eight unique and majestic lion lanterns. The light switch one happens at 4pm each night.

The festival runs from 11 November to 2 January however on the 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th January they are running an extension whereby you can enter at 4pm for the lanterns and limited other activities.  You’d better be quick for this festival – if not be sure to visit for next years event!
