The Green Room – Corsham

The Green Room run by Nicki Green is a beauty and massage treatment centre nestled in a quiet street in Corsham, Wiltshire.  I was fortunate to meet Nicki, at a recent networking event where she gave a talk about work life balance.  We got chatting afterwards and Nicki was impressed by my support of all things local and agreed to appear on the blog!

On a very warm Monday morning I made my way over to The Green Room – located at the bottom of her garden but with it’s own entrance you instantly entered a tranquil space.  Luckily Nicki had the foresight to get air conditioning installed when she had the purpose built unit constructed!

We completed my customer questionnaire including any allergies or phobias (apparently she has experienced some clients not wanting their face covered with a towel or use cotton wool!).  We then ran through any concerns I had with my skin.  I could’ve hugged Nicki when she said I had really good skin and she didn’t think I had anything to worry about.  After being on Roaccutance twice in the past, this really gave me a confidence boost!

Nicki decided that she was going to use the Natural Spa Factory illuminate products – these are also made locally in Bath. After a cleanse and facial scrub, the skin was then steamed and toned. I then had a 20 minute massage using the Natural Spa Factory sensitive oil. This was followed by a 15 minute peel off mask. After a good moisturise, I was spritzed with Neals Yard white tea facial mist and a touch of their white tea eye gel.

Whilst the facemask was working it’s magic, I had a complimentary hand soak and massage using Neal’s Yard Bee Lovely honey orange and mandarin soap and hand cream – I definitely need to pick up a tube of this!

The whole facial took an hour and included deep cleansing, exfoliation, steam, deep massage of face, back neck and shoulders, mask, tone and moisturise.  It was really relaxing and my face felt squeeky clean and looked incredible radiant afterwards.

Nicki is fully qualified with a VTCT in Massage Therapy, VTCT in Fashion and Photographic Make Up, holds Diplomas in Threading, Facial Massage & Skincare and Eyelash treatments.  Not only offering treatment for ladies, Nicki is also fully qualified to offer traditional cut throat shaves for men which was very popular around Fathers Day.

After spending her first year as a mobile therapist, she soon learnt that lugging a heavy treatment table was not how she wanted to spend the rest of her years!

Now with the flexibility of working at home, she’s able to work around her busy family life and make a great work / life balance.
