Spain Weeks 3 & 4

Another 2 weeks have RACED past!

Week 3 saw some visitors arrive – John’s friends were extremely kind and drove up North to get John’s daughter so that she should come over for the Easter holidays. They were here for a week and we took them round to our usual haunts including Denia, Moraira, Javea and Gandia. It was really nice to have some other people here, spend some time with Olivia and show them our little finds and share our experience with them. I think Olivia appreciated having other teenagers here with her too!

The weather took a turn for the worse on Tuesday and the rain was constant from the minute we woke up to the minute we went to bed…typical that the weather turns the week we have visitors.

We also went go-karting (I didn’t partake, I was on dog duty / photographer duty!)

The girls were CRAZY and got in the pool one afternoon – it’s SOOOOO cold in there!

On their last day we took everyone for lunch at the golf club in Oliva and typically, the wind we’d had had dropped and it was HOT.

It felt really odd saying goodbye to everyone in the carpark and watching them drive away on the N332 towards the airport, knowing that we’d be going back to a quiet, empty villa!
Week 4 was a little quieter than the previous week!

Monday was spent catching up on the work from the previous week and popping to the supermarket to stock up on food for the week. After a week of eating out most days we needed to get back into some sensible eating!!  I caught up on all the washing from the visitors – all the bedding and towels…not terribly glamorous but these things have to be done over here as well!!!

The weather has much improved this week compared to the few overcast days of last week and we’ve had a couple of really HOT days. We’ve actually sat out in it for a couple of afternoons which isn’t something we’ve done loads of so our suntans are just from pottering about.

We’ve now booked our return journey and after much debating we’re going back the same route…which means that horrid day 3 drive will be our first day but it means that we cover a LOT of miles (600 in fact) in that first day so we have 2 shorter days on the way back.

You can catch up on weeks 1 & 2 here
